The Board 5 Programme identified and developed senior managers who had the potential to be Executive Directors within two to five years; the HPP identified and fast tracked high potential middle managers; the CLDP developed commercial managers to be able to become the Commercial Lead on major projects; and the 2020 Board fast tracked top graduates above and beyond their existing Graduate Development Programme. Each programme included a profiling process, development workshops, action learning projects and coaching.

We worked with the Old Mutual Group to identify and develop future leaders, from across the world, who will have the potential to lead the business in the future. This was achieved through the managers completing a range of psychometrics prior to the centre. At the centre the managers participated in a bespoke business simulation specifically designed to mirror the business model of Old Mutual and the challenges the company is likely to face in the future. After the business simulation the managers received verbal feedback, a written feedback report and coaching. The business also received a summary of the written report. Both the business and the manager used this report to create a robust Development Plan.

We created a bespoke business simulation for Brambles that could be run in-house using their own Learning & Development Coaches. It was tailored to fit the time slot within a 3 day development programme. Those taking part in the Development Centre were the high potential Directors being considered for Vice President positions and came from different parts of the world. Read more …
We created the ‘One World Aviation’ Business Simulation, which uses the aviation industry as a metaphor for Brambles. The simulation was set in 2025 when Airline companies have outsourced the provision and management of their aircrew to separate companies. Just as Brambles needs to ensure that customers have the right storage and transportation equipment in the right place at the right time, these outsourcing companies needed to ensure they have the right crew, at the right place at the right time. The participants led these companies over a four hour period as they addressed the business issues and tensions that mirror those at Brambles. To assess the participants Brambles staff were provided with a structure that enabled them to observe, record, classify and evaluate each leader’s performance against the new competency framework.
